Calm Your Child's Big Emotions with THIS 1 Parenting Strategy

big emotions emotional regulation heart-based approach to parenting Mar 25, 2024

Hey there,

As parents, we all want to support our children through their emotional ups and downs. However, sometimes our efforts to help can backfire, leaving both our child and us feeling frustrated and disconnected. If you've ever found yourself trying to help your child calm down and feeling like your attempts to do so only escalated the situation, you're not alone, and this week's video is for you:

As a parent, our instinct might be to downplay our child's emotions or try to fix the problem for them. When they have a big reaction, we try to stop the reaction and get them to take perspective.

But that rarely ever works. It usually just, makes things worse. Just like when we are upset, worried, angry, or disappointed we don't want someone telling us not to feel that way, our children don't like it either. But what if I told you there's a better way?

In this week's video, I'm showing you exactly how to respond differently so you can help your child navigate big emotions better all while you stay calm in the process.

Not so sure it can happen?

Then I guess you better check out this week's video.

You'll be so glad you did.

All my best,
B.J.
